In the early days of Islam, the Prophet forbids Muslims to perform pilgrimage tomb. This is intended to keep Muslims aqidah. Prophet Muhammad's grave pilgrimages to worry if allowed, would Muslims worship graves. Muslims strong faith and no fear to do shirk, the Prophet Muhammad allowed his companions to go on pilgrimage tomb. Because of the grave pilgrimages can help Muslims to remember the time of his death.
Buraidah narrated that the Prophet SAW said, "I forbid you ever visit the grave. But now Muhammad tetah given permission to visit his mother's grave. So now, do pilgrimage! Because the act could remind you of the Hereafter. "(Narrated by al-Tirmidhi)
With this hadith the tomb of pilgrimage is permissible for men and women. However, what about the hadith of the Prophet Muhammad that clearly states the prohibition of women visit the grave?
Abu Hurairah reported the Prophet Muhammad has cursed the women who visit graves. (Reported by Ahmad ibn Hanbal). In response to this hadith scholars claim that the ban had been lifted into a pilgrimage permissibility both men and women. In the Book of Sunan at-Tirmidhi, it says: Some scholars say that the hadith was uttered before the Prophet Muhammad allowed to go on pilgrimage tomb. After the Prophet Muhammad allow men and women were included in the skill. (Sunan al-Tirmidhi, [976]
Ibn Hajar al-Haitami was asked about the pilgrimage to the tomb of the saint, he says:
He asked about the pilgrimage to the tomb of the saint at a certain time to make a special trip to their graves. He replied, pilgrimage to the tomb of the saint is sunnah worship. Similarly, the way to their graves. (Al-Fatawi al-Kubra al-Fiqhiyah, juz II, p. 24).
When pilgrimage someone recommended to read the Qur'an or the other. Ma'qil bin Yasar narrated the Messenger SAW said: Read the letter Yasin on dead people among you. (Abu Daud)
Therefore, the tomb's Pilgrimage in Islam is recommended for men and women, because in it contains a very large benefits. Good for people who had died of gift reward of reading the Qur'an, or even for those who visit itself, which reminds people of death who would pick him up.
